Here are some recent photos that I took of a sweet family who clearly adore each other! You might recognize the little boy from a previous photo shoot!
I had so much fun photographing Erika's boys. So sweet and what beautiful smiles! All of them. What was so touching was how they interacted with their mom. They LOVE their mom so much and it showed. I was really happy that I had the chance to catch their sweet expressions. Here are some of the results.
One early morning a few months ago, I decided to walk to the pond that is a short distance from our home. There was a cool mist above the water and, low and behold, sitting near the edge of the pond was a blue heron! I don't know why I love herons so much. They are not the most attractive birds on the planet, but they fascinate me so. I guess part of the fascination stems from the fact that they don't look all that large. Then they get startled and start to fly and I am always amazed at their huge wingspan. I think they are pretty cool creatures!
This was one of my favorite shots of Kathi. I used a watercolor filter over the picture and just love the outcome! If you click on the photo, you'll be able to see all of the "painting" detail.
Imagine my surprise when I looked at this past week's "Pulse," from the Prince William newspaper, and found that my photo (along with two from other people) had been chosen for the front page. I was beginning to lose hope that it would ever make it in because I had submitted it quite a while ago. Patience is truly a virtue!
This was one of my recent projects in my class where we had to take a macro shot and then "shrink a person" to fit in it somehow. Here, my friend, Leah, is sweeping up the excess pollen from the flower! Thanks, Leah, for letting me put you to work!
